LCM

Artist: Children 18:3

Album: self-titled

Last night as I was baking cookies and watching The Bourne Identity with my brother and his friends, I had an epiphany.

The movie had come to the particular scene where Bourne gave Marie the choice to either stick with him and run or to leave and go to the police. As Parisian cops start closing in on the two…

BOURNE: You take care of this car?
MARIE: What do you mean?
BOURNE: Tires felt a little splashy on the way over here.
MARIE: It pulls a little to the right.
[ Siren Approaching ]
BOURNE: Last chance, Marie.

And that is where worlds of media collided. You see, the band Children 18:3 wrote this song a while back titled “LCM,” an energetic track featuring fast-paced electric guitar and hyped up vocals–the type of song that gets your head banging so fast you didn’t even see it coming.

The lyrics, as it were, seem to detail a car chase. And the chorus? “Last chance, Marie/Calm down, it’ll be okay/Last chance, Marie whoa-oh…”

Lyrics:
You’ve gotta run!
You’ve gotta go to the police
It’s ok, you’ll be fine
I think this is what’s best for you
It’s gonna turn out right
I’ve gotta go!
I’ve got to figure this out
You’re really not at fault
You should go and clear your name
And work it out

Chorus:
Last chance Marie
You want to run? It’ll be ok
Last chance Marie
I’ve got to run but you can give up now

So who are you?
Do you know what you want?
What does all this mean?
I know you have a yesterday but tomorrow is unseen
You have a choice
Do you know what you want?
When nothing else is clear
To go on now is optional
And home is near

Chorus

Bridge:
They’re coming, they’re coming
You know you can’t run with the death squad shooting
They’re coming, they’re coming
The pit bulls smiling and the squad cars screaming

Last chance Marie
You want to run? It’ll be ok
Last chance Marie
I’ve got to run but you can give up now

To be free

Now you have a new car-chase-scene song, which you can listen off of the band’s Myspace by clicking here!
Oh and, psst!, if you’re really nerdy, here’s the transcript for the movie… :)
